Rivian outlines roadmap from Level 2+ driver assist to Level 4 robotaxis
Rivian demonstrated its Autonomy+ Level 2+ system and says a point-to-point feature will arrive on the R2 SUV by the end of this year, with OTA updates for newer R1 models and pricing plans stated by the company. The firm is developing in-house RAP1 chips, lidar, and a Large Driving Model to scale toward Level 3 highways and Level 4 robotaxi deployments starting in 2028 per Rivian’s announced plans and partnerships.
