China’s intelligence chief urges stronger AI risk controls
China’s state security minister Chen Yixin warned that artificial intelligence poses rising national security risks and called for robust risk-prevention frameworks. The remarks came as Beijing promotes a bigger role in global AI governance while criticising US restrictions, and after Xi Jinping proposed an AI initiative at the BRICS summit.
